Remembering Dec 26

Today i felt i had been way too selfish, way too self centered that I had only been thinking of the miseries/ hard ships I had seen through by left for a couple of years now - i was shocked and reality pinched me last nite when i sat watching what was left after the Tsunami/earthquake struck Indonesia, India(tho I have been reading and watching for months now on all abt the Tsunami).
Lots of us in life have had to start more than just once our lives from scratch owing to our own decisions but what these victims had to live through is horrifying- nature going against you. Is there a fate to blame at all here cause nature and fate for all we know are opposites!
Is it not time that we did our bit in contributing to what we think is essential for a peaceful and harmonious , healthy living .

its easier to fight back on humans and stand a humans fury but when nature strikes at us we have no options left!(almost)

isnt it time we live our values (for the time we are around here ) - every persons own values which ensures that he doesnt wrong his fellow beings and the omni present nature!!!!

Orientation of schools in India

I had the shock of my life last week when I was in a school interview for my daughter for her KG. I am a single parent and the principal has the audacity to tell me "that they had outright rejected my daughters application owing to her moms single parenthood and that however after they saw her perform real well in her interview will recommend for ammendment in their decision" What on earth do we think we mean when we say we are trying to bring in a change in this society.? Does this mean singly parented children will not have the same rights as children with both the parents. Does it mean illegitimate children cannot ever be tutored. This was a one of case. But then how can this even be allowed to happen?

My Monday Blog- warning a long one and society based issue!

Totally contrary to the cheer blogging that i wanted to do today, i wanted tp put down what i witnessed last evening - more focus on a social issue I like with my folks in the home that I have lived in for a long time now. In my neighbourhood is this bungalow which now does not have tenants. Its taken over by a couple who usually find themselves making homes in the pavements.This house has remained vacant for more than 4 months now depriving the house owner of a fancy income close to 40K per month on ly owing to the sole reason that this couple who are supposed to be safe keeping this house have chosen to take over the household- literally speakingNow he foucus is not on the house tho Ive out rightly given too many details.This guy is a drunkard inside out ...ignoring the other lousy and filthy details about his lifestyle ????it was around 23:00 hrs when i heard this lasy wail out in pain and i rushed out (was busy making my daughter sleep) to see him hit her - punch her and even picked up a huge stone to hit her with.I was shocked cause I was sure the entire colony that I lived in would have surely heard her wail in pain,Now no one even bothered to check on her forget any subsequent actions to be taken like lodging a police complaint!!The irony of this was the fact that adjoining this house is an RTO (Regional Transport Officer) in the ranke of a DIG of police by Indian Standards.He didnt even switch his lights on to see what was hapenning!I had to browse up for the local police stations number and call them - only reaching a dead phone owing to the continual downpour here in Chennai.My dad rushed to me all of a sudden and yelled for taking this on myself and said that he had during an earlier incident spoken to a Mahila Rescue NGO and tried to get this lady to the right hands only to be let down completely since in less than a fortnight this lady ran back to her husband,
I could not belive what my dad told me. I was shocked, i could not digest what people survive for.I agree poverty, crime, corruption adultery are all an integral part of livelihood today but then what happens to our reason to exist!!!
Last evening brought in a few "Close to Life Thoughts"
Why did this lady have to choose to run back to her husband. is it so difficult for her to learn to live by herself- why did she give up on herself so easily?How could the rest of the neighbourhood choose to sleep cosy when there is this woman wailing for help and in pain?What kind of humans do we intend to make of our children and the forthcoming generations if we are ourselves so selfish and self centered?
